The Grace of the Third

Through a green damp forest in a time of simpler need, three young sisters walked side by side along an uneven path of stones and moss. Eventually, after walking for several days, they came upon a still and silent black river, foreboding in its width and frightening in its depth. The third sister, the ugliest of the three, took a step into the water expecting the edge to be shallow. She disappeared into the dark depths of the river, leaving her sisters to languish with grief on the bank. Continue reading
